Bleeding Heart - Specatabilis
The Bleeding Heart Specatabilis, 'Dicentra ‘specatabilis’, is a fast-growing perennial with pink, heart-shaped flowers. It is the most common variety in its species. The blooms look wonderful against its grayish foliage. Dicentra ‘specatabilis’ has a plant height of 30” and a width of 20”. Dicentra should be planted in full sun but will tolerate morning shade. It is heat tolerant and needs moist soil. Do not let it dry out. Dicentra will bloom from May to September and is a major attractor to butterflies. ‘Specatabilis’ makes excellent cut flowers, in mass with groundcovers, or in potted containers. Bellflower - Bowl of Cherries The Bellflower, 'Campanula ‘Bowl of Cherries’, has showy, compact cherry-red flowers with dark green foliage. This ground cover is best used in rock gardens, as an edging or in tubs and post. ‘Bowl of Cherries’ blooms from early summer to late spring and will sometimes repeat flowering in autumn. It has a plant height of 6-8” and a spread of 12-15”. ‘Blue Waterfall should be planted in full sun, but will tolerate morning shade and will do well in all types of soil.
