Coreopsis - Crème Brulee
The Coreopsis ‘Crème Brulee’ is new to the market and has bright deep yellow flowers that blooms from June through October. In the Tickseed family, ‘Crème Brulee’ has larger flowers than most Coreopsis in its family. ‘Crème Brulees’ have a plant height of 24” and a spread of 18”. The bright green thread leaf foliage makes a great contrast with the flower color. ‘Crème Brulee’ should be planted in full sun. It is drought-tolerant and tough but does need well-drained soil. The foliage is mildew-resistant and should be cut backing early and late summer to extend the bloom period. Coreopsis ‘Crème Brulee’ looks great with any type of grass, in borders or mass plantings in sunny gardens. (PPAF). ... details
Grass - Blue Oat The Grass 'Blue Oat Grass', Helictotrichon sempervirens , is more enduring than blue fescues. Blue Oat grass is the best choice for accents. The clear blue summer foliage echoes with dwarf blue spruce and blue junipers. For a dramatic effect, try Helictotrichon with deep maroon leaved canna lilies. The blades are upright and divergent. Blue Oat grasses are mostly grown for its metallic blue foliage. The handsome flowers resembling one-sided oat panicles appear in June and grow 1-2 feet above the leaves. Great in flowering borders and rock gardens. |
