Grass - Bunny Tails

The Grass Bunny Tails, 'Lagurus ovatus', is wonderful for flower arrangements. The furry flowers are practically shatter-proof. Kids love the flower heads. Bunny Tails forms an upright fountain of charming soft and fluffy flower heads that are as soft as an actual bunny tail. The 2 inch long flower head are dense, pale and feathery. The flower heads appear in late summer and they are light green, turning to buff. Bunny Tails will grow in full sun to light shade locations. They will withstand poor soils but will do best in average fertile soil. Plant in the spring, 3 weeks before the last average frost date. Spray the flowers with florist dye to create any color you want. This plant is used for a tall, grassy groundcover. ... more information
