The Hackberry tree, Celtis Occidentalis, is a superior tree that withstands heat, drought, wind, and alkaline soils. The Hackberry tree is tall, and has similar spread, with ascending arching branches, and some drooping branches. Hackberry trees have a large spreading crown with red-orange fruit in the fall. The Hackberry is a moderate growing rugged tree. The trunk takes on a corky appearance as it matures. ... details

Arborvitae - Spring Grove The Arborvitae Spring Grove, 'Thuja plicata 'Spring Grove', a Proven Winners selection, was selected for its superior winter color and hardiness. It maintains a rich green color even in Midwest winters. The tight, pyramidal habit works nicely for landscape designs, borders, screens, and windbreaks. This plant is also very deer resistant. The Spring Grove is fast growing for an Arborvitae.
