Hosta - Francee

The Hosta ‘Francee’, Hosta fortunei, has heart-shaped dark green leaves with narrow yellow changing to white margins. The lavender flowers bloom from July to August, however, Hosta’s are not known only for their flowers. With a plant height of 18” and a spread of 36-48”, Hosta’s provide bright color in shade with wonderful foliage. Hosta ‘Francee’ needs to be planted in a full shade area in any moist, well-drained area. Geranium - Midnight Reiter With its beautiful dark purple foliage, it has a plant width of 12” and a height of 6”. (If grounded in shade, the foliage turns green with purple highlights. ) ‘Midnight Reiter’ needs to be cut back in early summer for repeat bloom time in the fall. ‘Midnight Reiter’ Geranium, being drought tolerant, needs a full sun area with some shade in the afternoon. There is an attraction to bees and butterflies and it is very disease and deer resistant. A great plant for a beginner gardener.
