Hosta - Great Expectations
The Hosta Great Expectations, 'Hosta sieboldiana', has puckered heart shaped leaves with creamy yellow centers and irregular blue-green edges. The white flowers bloom from July to August, however, Hosta’s are not known for their flowers. With a plant height of 24” and a spread of 36”, Hosta’s provide bright color in shade with wonderful foliage. Hosta ‘Great Expectations’ needs to be planted in a full shade area in any moist, well-drained location. Daylily - Frances Joiner The Daylily Frances Joiner, Hemerocallis 'Frances Joiner' (Joiner, '88), has large 5 1/2 inch double peony type blooms that are beige color and fade to rose on towards the edges on green foliage. Frances Joiner is a mid-season rebloomer. It can survive harsh conditions that many other plants can not and prefers full sun for the best performance. Daylilies are some of the easiest plants to grow and are a good choice for any gardener. The will grow in almost any soil and handle drought to wet soil conditions.
