Hummingbird Haven

The Hummingbird Haven Flower Mix calls all hummingbirds. If this mix of showy, bright blooms doesn't catch their attention, they haven't arrived in your town yet. There are eighteen different varieties, each an irresistible invitation to imbibe in summer's sweet nectar. This glorious array of vivid floral color will last from spring to fall for your enjoyment as well. Some of the flower varieties included are Bee Balm, Columbine Shooting Star, Coral Bells, Godetia, Hollyhock, Nasturtium and Zinnia. This mix covers approximately 14 square feet. In cool climates plant in the spring, 1 to 2 weeks after the last average frost date. In mild climates, sow seed during cooler months, generally October through March. Soil must be kept moist while the seeds are germinating and beginning to grow. Be sure to keep the weeds pulled so they do not compete with the flowers for water and sun. ... find out more

 

Zinnia - Canary Bird The Canary Bird Zinnia, 'Zinnia elegans', produces large 4 to 5 inch brilliant yellow flowers on 3 foot tall plants. The Zinnia plant is very easy to grow. For long hot summers, nothing beats zinnias for brilliant bloom color and long bloom period. The Canary Bird Zinnia is an annual plant that produces the best flowers in full sun. For best results mix a high phosphorus, low nitrogen fertilizer in with the soil. Plant in late spring, about two week after average last frost. Canary Bird Zinnias are great for cut and dried flowers and are also excellent in large pots and containers.
