Lilac - Superba Littleleaf

Superba Littleleaf Lilac, Syringa microphylla 'Superba', is an attractive shrub that is covered with single, deep pink flowers in May-June. The clean, small leaves are mildew resistant, and this broad spreading shrub grows twice as wide as tall. It is widely used as a foundation plant in the garden and group plantings, also for informal or formal hedges, and as a specimen shrub. It is easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soil in full sun. It tolerates light shade, but best bloom quality and disease resistance occur in full sun. Superba Littleleaf prefers rich, moist, neutral soils. It should be pruned as needed immediately after flowering. Superba Littleleaf is a dense, compact, mounded, spreading, deciduous, small-leaved shrub that grows to 6 feet tall and up to 12 feet wide. It is resistant to the common lilac diseases, especially powdery mildew. ... additional information
