Salvia - Mixed Colors

The Mixed Colors Salvia, 'Salvia splendens', has very unusual intensely colored spikes on dense, deep green plants. This plant has a dramatic appearance in mass plantings, border, and pots. The Mixed Colors Salvia have 6 to 8 inch tall spikes of salmon, rose, scarlet, and violet flowers. This plant will do best in full sun, but will thrive and bloom in partial shade. Mixed Color Salvias will do well in in ordinary well-drained garden soil. They should be watered regularly but not to the point of soggy soil conditions. Cosmos - Yellow Garden The Cosmos Yellow Garden, 'Cosmos bipinnatus', has a unique, unusual soft lemon-yellow color. The Yellow Garden Cosmos prefer full sun, but they can withstand a little shade. They will thrive in average garden soils. Do not over fertilize or over water. Plant this Cosmos in the spring after the last average frost date. They are excellent colorful bedding plants for low maintenance, dry areas and are great for cut flowers.
