The Sedum ‘Vera Jameson’, also known as Stonecrop, is a wonderful ground cover with bold color for the fall season. ‘Vera Jameson’ has a height of 6-8” and a spread of 12”. The dense, star shaped, pink flowers appear in late summer and last in fall, and bloom from May to September. The new growth shows blue-green leaves that turn into deep mahogany red in the fall that can’t be missed. Sedum ‘Vera Jameson’ needs to be planted in full sun in well-drained soil. It will tolerate most soil types and is drought resistant. Plant with asters or coneflowers for a wonderful autumn display. ‘Vera Jameson’ is a great choice for beds and borders and excellent as cut flowers. Phlox - Pink Flame The Phlox Pink Flame, 'Phlox paniculata', is an ideal ground cover with masses of tiny lilac purple flowers with a white center and a thick mat of foliage. ‘Pink Flame’ is a new variety with variegated foliage and a pinkish tinge near the tips or the leaves. Blooming from April to May, it has a plant height of 12” and a spread of 12-18”. ‘Pink Flame’ needs to be planted in a full sun area in well-drained soil. Use ‘Pink Flame’ in rock gardens, as a spread over curbs and short retaining walls, or in difficult edges of dry streambeds.
