The Zinnia Persian Carpet, 'Zinnia haageana (mexicana)', creates a carpet of warm, festive colors in your flowerbed. The Mexican Sinnia is very heat and drought tolerant and it attracts butterflies. The 1 to 2 inch single and double flowers appear in purple, red, and chocolate with white and yellow tips. They are easy to grow and for long hot summers, and nothing beats Zinnias for brilliant bloom color and long blooming period. This Zinnia will bloom from early summer through late fall. Persian Carpets prefer full sun and rich, deep, well drained soil. They need to be well watered but not soggy. Plant in late spring, 2 weeks after the last average frost date.
